Fly me to the moon ... for a proposal? Firm offers launches from Kennedy for lovebirds.
A Paris company has launched a campaign to send lovebirds to the Moon for marriage proposals.
If you can hold off another four years and have $145 million to spare – and, honestly, who doesn’t? – a French company wants to send you into space from Kennedy Space Center for an out-of-this-world marriage proposal.
ApoteoSurprise Agency will start booking flights in March 2022 for hopeless romantics with deep pockets to jump aboard a rocket and take off into space.
The company specializes in helping people plan proposals in Paris.
Details on which flights would be the ones to carry these lovebirds were not shared.
The launch manifest from Florida for 2022 so far only includes two missions of the Space Launch System, which is NASA’s heavy-lift vehicle that will include a crewed mission to Mars.
But if the company does settle on a mission and works out details with NASA, the rest of the trip has already been planned.
Before you are whisked off beyond the clouds you’ll have to endure 12 weeks of technical and physical training.
But, if you make it, your reward is a launch from Florida to the theme of “2001: A Space Odyssey” and a three-day flight into the moon’s orbit.
As you approach, Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon” will also play and then the couple can watch an Earth-rise as they swing around the moon and embark on a four-day return trip.
