Dining à deux in a hot air balloon.

Paris-based company ApoteoSurprise offers a decadent treat for high-flying love birds : dinner in a hot air balloon. The luxury starts when you are picked up from your hotel in a gleaming 1959 Mark IX Jaguar and whisked to the balloon launch pad in the countryside of the Eure-et-Loire region, just outside the capital. After being greeted by your pilot and steward, you'll be escorted to your gondola to find a table set up for dinner. As the balloon rises, your entrée comes with a panoramic view of the châteaux, lakes and forests below. Next, toast your flight (and banish vertigo) with a bottle of Bollinger champagne. After dining on a terrine of foie gras, Bresse chicken fricassée with spring vegetables and Frecinette banana clafoutis in mango coulis, the steward will deliver a bouquet of flowers to your sweetheart, with a love note hidden in the petals. The journey ends as the sun sets but, hopefully, the feeling of being on cloud nine doesn't.
