6:15 pm, you will join the ticket counter of the famous
Musée Grévin. You will give your name to the
hostess, will take your tickets and will enter the
building alone.
In a set of
realistic scenographies, you will meet, in the bend
of a Parisian brasserie or a theatre box, Pavarotti,
Jean Reno, Ray Charles, Naomi Campbell and Elvis Presley...
Your visit will be puzzling, as with the semi-privatization
of the museum, you will roam almost lonesome in the
corridors of the building!
After half an hour of visit,
you will reach the majestic Salle des Colonnes, a room constituted
by gold and marble, with arched ceiling and bronze capitals.
There, on your right, you will notice a 19th century statue
elegantly enthroned on its pedestal, a statue wearing a
frocked coat, a top hat, white gloves and a walking stick.
You will approach the statue
and will read, on its pedestal, the presentation label:
« Valentin. Honorable Parisian
paladin who invented the Valentine's Day during the 19th
century. »
The statue will
then make a discreet movement. But not the slightest eyelid
blink. Could this statue have a soul? Maybe! As suddenly,
the character will plunge his hand into his vest to reveal
a rose which he will offer to your beloved. Then, the man
will repeat the movement, this time with a parchment. Your
sweetheart will take the document, will unfold it and will
discover, with emotion, your tender message of love!
A mischievous expression
will then come across Valentine's face before, with a few
simple gestures, he will invite you to reach the elegant
table laid out just a few meters away. On this table, you
will discover a pleiad of souvenir gifts: a Herblin wax
box, a Musée Grévin book, a Victor Hugo case with a goose
feather and some ink, and a bottle of champagne which will
allow you to toast glasses – a rare privilege ! – in the
middle of the museum!
